Verio is the IP trust engine for Story's IP blockchain. Verio decentralizes financial and legal governance system for Story's new IP regime. Story decentralizes IP storage, Verio decentralizes IP governance.

Verio is the liquid staking and IP asset restaking platform for Story. Users stake IP to receive vIP, a yield bearing LSD. Users can then restake vIP on IP assets to earn additional yield and help govern the Story IP ecosystem.

Liquid staking lets you stake IP tokens while staying liquid by receiving a yield-bearing tradeable derivative, vIP. vIP appreciates over time against IP from network staking rewards. Users can use vIP in DeFi, IPFi (e.g. restake vIP on IP assets).

Restaking on IP Assets allows users to earn additional yield by (re)staking vIP on IP assets. The amount of $vIP stake on an IP Asset serves a legitimacy and value signal, helping Story protect and facilitate the adoption of the trillion-dollar IP industry. There is a small unstake fee to prevent users from over farming different IP Assets.

Verio is audited multiple times by prestigious auditing firms, including Nethermind that audited Lido, the largest liquid staking protocol for Eth with over 20B in TVL. However, there are risks invovled. Smart contract risk: Despite thorough audits, vulnerabilities may exist. Slashing risk: Validators can be penalized, but Verio mitigates this by distributing stakes across diverse operators. vIP price risk: Dex may have a different vIP - IP exchange rate than Verio liquid staking protocol.

Verio applies a 15% fee on staking rewards (zero fees during Singularity) and 0.1% fee on unstakes. Majority of this fee is redirected to support staking on IP assets, helping Story curate IP assets and govern the decentralized IP system.
